My Pastors message this week has been a "Rhema Word" in my life. "My Life Speaks, because I Speak Life".

Meditating on, Philippians 4:5 "Let your gentleness be evident to all."

For those that don't know me, I'm no small man, 6' 2" 340lbs on the hoof. As I've had opportunity to a Coach, Manager, Leader, Pastor, Counselor, Chaplain, Husband, Father and friend i know that my stature can be intimidating but then also i have this booming voice as well. Bearing my soul here: There have been times when coaching football where it has been necessary for me to put my hands behind my back while "speaking" so that i would appear less intimidating to the singular "target" of my directed communication. Hands behind my back holding firmly onto a hat that i was folding and twisting apart. My "gentleness" was not evident to all" (not even some, ok... not even one). Maturity and reflection is painful and at times excruciating. God gave me the most wonderful and incredible small (in stature) gift in my wife, and now my precious daughter. Younger Jason wouldn't mind being recalled with Jessica as being my Beauty and I as the Beast. Thats not the legacy i want to leave. The greatest part of my day is when my daughter sees me and reacts as if she hasn't seen me in weeks, jumps into my arms saying, "I love you daddy" melting my heart scooping her up in this baseball mits called hands and having her squeeze me with all her strength. Meekness... I want to be known for gentleness and meekness. I have work to do...

James 1 is my reflection the remainder of the day.

It’s teacher appreciation week. I am more than proud of my wife Jessica Marie Godwin Oxendine as she started a new Co-op school this year based out of our Crown Church . She prayed, she stepped out in faith, She cast vision, recruited the most amazing godly staff, organized curriculum, made the yearly schedule and now teaches, mentors prepares all while being this pastors wife (which has its great share of time) and the most incredible mom to our daughter. I don’t thank her near enough or brag on her which she deserves. Simply put I love her and she’s amazing.
