Dynamic Movement Intervention -DMI
07/14/2026
⚠️ Safety always comes first. The most effective DMI sessions aren’t about pushing harder—they’re about knowing when to modify, support, and progress safely.
Children with spina bifida, SMA, significant hypotonia, or an increased risk of osteopenia/osteoporosis require extra caution during DMI. The same is true for children who are just beginning therapy, starting an intensive for the first time, or returning after a long break.
Using proximal support, controlled handling, and thoughtful progression helps create a safe environment while still working toward meaningful functional goals.
As DMI practitioners, our responsibility is to provide interventions that are not only effective but also individualized and safe. Every child deserves a treatment plan that respects their unique needs.
💙 Safe practice isn’t slowing progress—it’s protecting it.
