Meet our 2026 student honorees

🎉 Jade Mendez Rodriguez

Jade has grown from a dedicated student into a mentor in Valerie Light’s digital arts classes. This fall, she will begin pursuing a BFA in Animation at the School of Visual Arts and credits NECS with helping her grow as both an artist and a leader.

🎉 Ella Morel

Ella is a junior at Peekskill High School whose leadership extends from student government to community service. She developed an app connecting students with internship and volunteer opportunities and was selected as one of only two New York State delegates to the United States Senate Youth Program.

🎉 David Hoilett

David has been part of the NECS community for several years, performing in musical productions and working in the summer camp program. A passionate music lover, he values the friendships, experiences, and creative opportunities that have shaped his journey.

Jade, Ella, and David are shining examples of the extraordinary young people who come through our doors at NECS.

Join us on Sunday, June 14 at 12:00pm at The Garrison for our 7th Annual Benefit, Creativity Ignited, as we celebrate our youth and support the programs that help them thrive.

Last week, we had a full house as we celebrated the incredible work of our young creatives at Art In Bloom. As our season comes to a close, the event showcased the energy, talent, and creativity that fills New Era Creative Space all year long.

Now in its 7th year, our annual benefit, Creativity Ignited, celebrates the next generation of creative leaders and the impact of arts and leadership programming in our community.

We’re honored to welcome Penn Badgley as this year’s keynote speaker.
