I’ve been working on this series of landscape glimpses for a while now, endlessly reaching for a way to communicate how I feel when I look out at quiet places. A search for the eternal ‘Why❔’ crudely rendered in the crystalline structure of color film. To focus my camera on any one detail at times like these seems beside the point, so I choose not to focus on anything at all. I feel I can fall into this space each time I look at it, as though it is a trap door in a ceiling and it opens into the sky.⠀

I have three framed prints of this image available and ready to ship for the holidays. They measure 8.5 x 5.5 inches and are matted in a 16 x 20 inch, vertically oriented frame. I carefully print my work myself using highest quality archival inks and fine art paper. Available online (with images of the frame style) at www.hopestatestudio.com and I’m offering 10% off art orders with the code FRIENDSOFHOPESTATE through the year end.

Went to the Louvre last month, got distracted by the staircases.
