Public service announcement. I just had to ban a disgruntled customer because he is unsatisfied with the mask he got. Now usually I dont like to do that sort of thing and welcome peoples opinions but he was lying about things I said such as my masks ship with a head form which I never told him or would tell anyone because they simply do not. He also insulted me personally in several ways so I cant let that stand. I dont deny that his mask was not close to my best work but it became apparent that he cared more about getting his mask quickly than he did about giving me the proper time to finish it and do a good job. I was being constantly messaged on a daily basis to the point I felt I was being harassed and needed to just get the mask out. Let me be clear for anyone thinking about buying a mask If you need a mask for a specific date contact me first to see if its possible. Time wise when I have a minimal workload its a 6-8 week turn around. When I have a heavy workload its 8-10 weeks and can sometimes surpass that but these are only estimates to give you a rough idea of how long it will take. There is no way to know on exactly what date a project of this length will be finished and Im lucky to say that 99.9% of my customers understand that and are great. I rarely ever have to deal with people like this and most if not all of these people would buy from me again. I dont know how old this guy is but if you are the type of person who will throw a fit message and bad mouth me because the mask was not finished when you expected it to be then I dont need and would rather not have your business as quality takes time and I dont feel the amount of time I ask is unreasonable for the amount of work that goes into one of these. He was also mad because he bought the mask at full price and a month later I put it on sale but that was just a move to stimulate sales and nothing against him. Being upfront right now I have a very heavy workload including two commissions so some of my regular projects are running over but not by long and those who are patient will have it pay off and get some of my best work. Im getting alot of questions about the price of getting a custom mask made from scratch. The answer is it depends on the complexity of the design but there are the sculpting and molding processes that also need to be done when making a mask from scratch and those add to the overall cost in both time and money to the process so the minimum for a totally custom full sized mask would be around $1250. For the designs I already have custom paint is no extra charge and only hair options and modifications are going to cost you anything extra depending on what it is you need done.
