To my knowledge, the topic of sacred plant medicine - AKA psychedelics - has not been discussed much publicly in adoption spaces. But I'm opening up a discussion about it this Sunday through a free webinar I'm hosting with a panel of 5 adoptees and birth/first parents. Brian Stanton (ATghostkingdom), Leslie Pate Mackinnon, LCSW, Ridghaus, Mee Ok Icaro, and Lesli Johnson (Ask Adoption) will share their own experience with various consciousness-altering substances. They will talk about why they think psychedelics are particularly helpful to those struggling with adoption trauma and other deep-seated wounds.

I'm very hopeful that sacred plant medicines, used thoughtfully and within an intentional set & setting, can be deeply healing, especially for deep-seated trauma like adoption, relinquishment, and maternal separation. But people need to understand the risks and they need to navigate the space with caution!
