What does 100 calories look like?

Calories are not created equal— some calories contain lots of nutrients and others are junk. Some calories contain protein and fat, that will keep you full for a while…others are completely quick carbohydrates that will give you a crash in an hour. As you can see, it’s pretty easy to eat your entire days worth of calories in Doritos…but it would be pretty hard to do that in spinach 😉 Counting calories isn’t always a good way to determine what you will eat in a day, because calories don’t correspond with nutrients. However, one thing I always preach to clients is to know what they are eating. Read nutrition labels and know roughly how many calories your meal or snack has. Education is always your friend, and the more educated you are on the food you eat, the more control you have. 💚💪🏼💙
