Seven operating rooms, Same Day Services and Recovery, Sterile Processing, and Pre-Admission Testing have officially opened at Valley Health System – Ridgewood Campus, increasing surgical capacity across Valley Health System. The teams gathered to cut a ribbon to celebrate their grand opening!

In 1972, the widow of F. Willard Bergen attends the April groundbreaking ceremonies for the three-story, $12 million Bergen Wing. F. Willard Bergen chaired the first formal fund-raising campaign for the hospital in 1946.

In 1974, the F. Willard Bergen Pavilion opens, and Valley increases its bed capacity to 387. The new building is architecturally unique in that it groups single patient rooms in clusters of four around a central alcove, where a nurse can simultaneously view all patients.
