Bille Rd South Firewise Community

Another successful Firewise community cleanup project in the books! Thank you to the neighbors that helped and especially the crew from the Magalia Fire Center for all their hard work and the Butte County Fire Safe Council for loaning us all the hand tools 😊

Great news — the Bille Road South Firewise Community has been officially renewed!

With this renewal, we’ve added newly built homes and expanded our coverage area — we now include 96 homes in total! I'm working on getting an update map.

Why this matters

Your Firewise certification may qualify you for a discount on your fire insurance or help you maintain an existing discount. Simply provide the certificate to your homeowners insurance agent.

What’s required to stay certified

To renew our Firewise status every two years, we must document a certain number of hours per household spent on wildfire-risk reduction and education.
To help meet that requirement, our community hosts:

At least one Firewise work activity each year

At least one educational or social event

We had a fantastic first project with our Firewise Community this morning! Thank you to everyone the helped, especially the crew from the Magalia Fire Center and one of the neighbors Ray Johnson! We couldn’t have done it without you! This lot was solid Scotch Broom and now it has a canyon view!
