I have a psychology degree, have worked in many schools and preschools, and have specialized in child development and helping children learn. I will enjoy creating positive, fun, and educational experiences for ALL the children in my home REGARDLESS of age! Even infants, I can track their development with you and encourage tongue thrusting to aid in spoon feeding, exchanging an item from one hand to another aiding in fine motor development, all the way up to preparing children for kindergarten learning numbers, alphabet letters, upper and lower case, letter sounds, and other prereading and prewriting skills. Usually, I try to schedule these outside of times I have your child(ren) so that I am free to give my attention to your child(ren)! Occasionally, if this arrangement does not work out, I may need to bring them along to an appointment. I will discuss this with you and see what options are available to respect your comfort level. I will always let you know upfront and with as much notice as possible for any of these kinds of situations that may arise. TRANSPORTATION OF YOUR CHILD
Also, especially during the summer, we may walk to parks or go to the zoo or go on some kind of field trip for fun. I prefer to have on going permission from every parent to transport or walk with your child. I do have strollers and several car seats. I do not mind using my own supplies. However, if I do not have enough car seats, or if you would prefer me to use your car seat that is also an option. As a mother myself and as a previous state worker who transported children, I like to be fully updated on not only on all the state laws regarding child transportation, but also the national highway traffic safety administration recommendations. I follow these recommendations as strictly as possible for the safety of all children. Also, as a mother I fully understand and encourage you to discuss your child's restraint and am more than welcome to have you view the restraint yourself or install it yourself if you wish. I will never transport your child(ren) without your permission. I will ensure you know where you child is located (at my house, my car, or otherwise) at all times. I strongly feel low ratios are in your child(ren)'s best interest and care. I want to provide your child(ren) the best, most individual, safe, appropriate care at all times whether in my home or otherwise.
