If your kids are obsessed with Minecraft, they've probably already figured out how to fly in Creative mode—but building an actual flying machine in Survival is a whole different challenge. Our latest blog post walks through how they can do this, from using console commands to spawn the rare Elytra wings, to engineering a self-moving machine using Redstone, pistons, and observers. It is a surprisingly great way for them to practice basic mechanical logic and cause-and-effect loops while they play. If they want a fun project to try this afternoon, challenge them to build a basic two-way flying machine using a sticky piston and a slime block. And if they love the engineering side of the game, they might really enjoy our hands-on Minecraft Redstone class or our free introductory coding event. 🎮
