Recap of Saturday’s Race for Jace at Clayhill Motorsports Park.
You are going to have a rough night from time to time and I believe I got this out of my system for the season hopefully. I missed the set up of the car which caused me to struggle throughout the night. I was collected in an incident in the Heat race on the last lap which caused me to finish 6th. This put me starting 17th in the Feature. In the feature I managed to move up to 12th by lap 8 but I made a mistake and spun the car which put me back to the 21st position. I marched up to 12th to finish the race. I learned a lot about changes I need to make on the car for the remainder of the season. It was a great night for all the spectators and the track did an amazing job putting on a show. Congratulations to Wesley Bedwell on the win in dominating fashion. Time to get ready for the next race.

I spent the morning prepping tires for this Saturday’s race at Clayhill Motorsports Park. (Annual Race For Jace) I couldn’t stop thinking to myself how lucky I am to have my daughter in my life and how Jace fought so hard to be around for his family. I read Ciara (my daughter) his story and she was moved by how strong he was during the most difficult moments of his life. She even drew some hearts on one of the tires for him. Jace all I can tell you is that I’ll race my heart out for you this Saturday night.

About Jace: (Released from a Clayhill article last year)

Jace Jones was a passionate music lover and musician and he also loved racecars. He was diagnosed with a rare brain disease at the age of 8 while a student, in the second grade, at West Carroll Primary School. His family turned to the world-renowned St. Jude for help only to find that the tumor was inoperable and uncurable. Despite poor odds and certain hardships, Jace lived each day with a passion for life and with a glowing smile. After some experimental treatments, and long after his prognosis of 6-8 months, Jace Jones made his final lap on June 19, 2020. His physicians and everyone he encountered were inspired by his resilience, humor, maturity, and his love for Jesus during this time.

A scholarship for music, has been established in his name for a student looking to pursue a degree in music at the university level and one is awarded each year to a deserving West Carroll senior.

Jace’s other passion was racecars. Hard pressed to miss any race – Jace was always at the speedway when his health would allow. His sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Blake Ross (Shelby Blake Ross)have helped to organize this event in his honor.

It’s RACEDAY!!! We will be at Western Kentucky Speedway for their last night of the season. Thank you to all of the staff there for all their hard work especially Cole Huggins. Grab the family and come on out to enjoy a great night of racing.

This weekend the 28c had its open heart surgery. The new 602 went in thanks to the hard work from Lynn Crittendon, Dwayne Crittendon,Brian Crittendon. These guys busted their rears to make it happen. Thank you all so much. Mike Watson thank you for the motor deal. We will be back on the track this Saturday night at Western Kentucky Speedway.

Thanks to James Calhoun I’m ready for the biggest race of the year. Factory Stock Super Series. These are the best Drivers in the Southeast. Come on out to Western Kentucky Speedway tonight. Best of luck to all my competitors.
