For most of you we are rounding 3rd and heading for home with your pig project. In our barn we call it “winning time”. The final stretch is the most crucial when u begin to see your goals becoming a reality.

Some things to consider in the final stretch?? what is my pig weighing? What is he or she gaining per day? Are you on track for your target finishing weight? Have u wormed your pig recently? What does my pig need that he or she doesn’t have currently. 

As we begin the hot summer days some pigs will begin to eat less and thus not gain as well. Try to keep them cool while also building their stamina for the show. Keep their hide stimulated by brushing and rinsing as much as u can.
