I been at home for many moons getting over this sickness so I had To get some water medicine. We launched the sages boat and headed out. Saw the first carp rise in the middle and then a set of spawners in the deep so I grabbed my bow and stuck the next pair I saw. Then put the bow up grabbed the rods we headed off to look for trout saw some jumpers but they were small state stuff so kept it pushing. There was a certain class of trout I was looking for and that was the bigger fish, looking for that 2-2.5 pound class of trout and bam saw a jumper. It was the right size so Jason got the boat in position and sent out some juvi spoons. I was waiting until I can see them on the electronics to make a plan on what they were doing. Saw a few close to the top then bigger carp in the middle and the small groups of trout hugging the bottom so I adjusted and said low and slow. Being that we were in only 7 feet of water. The first bite was on in less than 2 minutes. 2 pounder. This is the school I was looking for because this is also were the bigger fish will be hanging out. As the sun rose higher and the bite slowed we adjusted and moved the boat a little deeper. First in 7 feet then to 9 then to 13. Warmer the day deeper the fish will go. Let me tell after 8 double hook-ups and 1 triple hookup and lots of single bites we smacked the trout. We hooked fought netted then released. Over and over again. The Smallest 5 inches long, biggest 2.80 pounds with an above average of 2 pounds plus. We landed 66 trout lost 5 others today and but only kept our limits of 20 for us 4. As we were about to head in saw a family of 4 on a rental boat and they looked to be struggling. So we pulled next to them they havent caught a fish in two days. Turns out 4 # test was the thinnest line they had. Looked to be mostly 8 # on their rods. So Jason reached into his box handed them a new roll of two pound izor # # # line and we gave them some trout so they could take something home for dinner. Such a fun day on the water.

What an awesome company charter with the fishing evike team aboard the New Hustler from Hooks landing. Even though the wind came in over 30 mph we still had boat limits of rock fish and lots of white fish to add to the bags.. vertical jigs definitely hooked the better siz rock fish for most.
Can't wait for the next one.
