I don’t know if the typical swimming pool owner is aware of this practice, so here is a little piece of information. When you go to these big box stores and buy chlorine, you’re not getting what you think you are. In a swimming pool supply store, the typical available chlorine in a calcium hypochlorite shock is between 73% and 93%. Here’s a calcium hypochlorite from an unnamed box store…..53% available chlorine. That’s why theirs is just cheaper than ours. You’re not getting what you think you are for your money. Information and knowledge always increases proper financial decisions. Know what you’re buying.
