Starting Monday, May 5: Owasso Public Works will begin construction on the 96th Street widening project, stretching from N. 119th E. Ave. to the U.S. 169 overpass.

Here’s what to expect:

• Additional through lanes and new turn lanes into businesses to ease congestion
• A wider entrance into Smith Farm Shopping Center for better traffic flow
• New traffic signals
• Fresh asphalt over the entire roadway
• A widened U.S. 169 off-ramp onto 96th Street
• New road striping

The project is expected to wrap up by April 2026.

Important Note: All businesses in the area will remain accessible throughout the project. The City and contractor will coordinate with businesses in advance if any entrances or approaches need to temporarily close.

Attention:
Starting August 28th, 2024, contractor working on the East 96th Intersection Improvements project will be moving traffic control on the north side of East 96th Street North to begin work on the west bound lanes. As always, use caution and expect delays due to construction activities.

New East bound lanes of traffic will be open for use when this change occurs.
