When it rains, it pours.

Things haven’t gone exactly to plan since Happy Valley. A little ni**le that popped up the week before the race is still something I’m working through, and right now the focus is rebuilding consistency one day at a time.

I was super grateful to be able to get the work done in Happy Valley and still show up the way I did, but the truth is I was probably burning the candle at both ends for a while. Training hard, racing, travel, family life, and trying to keep pushing forward. There wasn’t one obvious moment that caused this, but eventually recovery catches up with you.

Add in a little post-surgery recovery from a cyst that has been persistent since January on my 🍑 and it’s been a lot all at once.

This is the part people don’t always see: the reduced bodyweight running, the dry needling, the bike fit tweaks, the easy spins, the patience, and the constant problem solving.

Not glamorous. Not perfect. But real.
