Beyond TAX Season
Nowadays, everyone and their mothers does taxes; (I'm not hating the hustle) I actually think it's good to have options. My goal is to help taxpayers understand the complex tax code created by the IRS. I may use funny, some times over the top stereotypes to engage with others, but I do not mean to offend any one group. I'm always available for a knee-cap to knee cap conversation if needed.

Q: What options are available when someone else claims your child on their returns?
A: If your return is rejected and your child credit was denied, You may file a paper return to claim the credit. You will receive the full EITC even if the other person got it already. The IRS will request proof that you are the parent that is entitled to the credit. A tax professional, like myself, can help support your claim. (was this helpful?) Pls LIKE.

Q&A: Should I just file my taxes on my own?
Short Answer: Sure, some people can but I'm not sure YOU should. Filing on your own has its advantages and disadvantages. I think most people know enough to get it right. But Every situation and motivation is different, so you must be very careful when you do. I just updated my blog with things to consider when making that decision.
