I had the honor of attending the in Orlando at my alma mater, .edu, as a panelist. What a full-circle moment it was to join for the conference as a young professional. I had the chance to connect with 50+ journalism students from universities across the country to listen to their stories and offer advice as they continue their studies. Many thanks to for recommending me as a panelist and the invite to the conference.

POOLER WAREHOUSE PROJECT: REGIONAL COMMISSION SAYS EXTRA REVIEW WAS REQUIRED BEFORE APPROVAL 🏗️
A regional planning agency says Pooler should have submitted the major warehouse project tied to the former Oglethorpe Speedway property for a Development of Regional Impact (DRI) review before the city approved rezoning in December 2022.
Residents say their concerns go beyond process, pointing to potential impacts on neighborhoods, property values, and the environment near areas like Tom Triplett Park. Neighbors cited an estimate of 3,100 semi-truck trips per day.

“We don’t care what anybody says: DEI is not a bad word.”
This morning, City of Savannah Government presented the Savannah Pride Center with a $10,000 check to commemorate a new partnership between the city and the organization.
City leaders like Mayor Van Johnson addressed the press before presenting the check, which will go towards supporting housing resources for the LGBTQIA+ community. That includes setting aside $5,000 to partner with a motel that will serve as 1-3 months of temporary housing for members of the community in emergency situations — which will cost ~$1500 dollars per person, per month.
See the Pride Center’s statement in the comments below, and the full story tonight on WJCL News.

These vets are biking up the East Coast!
This morning, they hit the road from Parker's on Montgomery Cross Road on their way to Beaufort. 20 veterans from across the United States are biking from the Jacksonville Jaguars football stadium to the 911 Memorial - World Trade Center Site in New York City. The vets, split into two groups of 10, will bike for a combined 60 miles each day.
They ask that if you see them on the road – honk! They appreciate the support as they make their way up north.
See the full report tonight at 6 and 11 on WJCL News, where the vets talk about what it means to ride, serve, and honor their country’s 250th birthday.
