For the past two days, Dr. Jenna has been representing Visual Health & Learning Center at the Step Up For Students Conference!

It has been a wonderful opportunity to connect with educators, professionals, homeschool leaders, and scholarship organizations from across Florida while raising awareness about the important role vision plays in learning.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share information about developmental vision care and vision therapy, answer questions, and advocate for children who may benefit from a comprehensive vision evaluation.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to talk to us and shared their stories. We look forward to continuing to serve families throughout Central Florida!

New research shows that children may experience Visual Snow Syndrome (VSS) more often than previously thought—and this matches what we’re seeing in our practice. If your child has ever described seeing “static,” dots, or unusual visual patterns, we’re happy to help guide you - call to learn more or schedule an evaluation.

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month!

It’s an important reminder that when the brain is injured, the visual system is often affected too.

Concussion, stroke, and other acquired brain injuries can disrupt how the eyes work together, how the brain processes visual information, and how patients move through their world. Many individuals experience double vision, headaches, light sensitivity, poor concentration, dizziness, or difficulty reading - all symptoms that are frequently misunderstood or overlooked.

Vision Therapy, guided by trained developmental optometrists and therapists, plays a critical role in neuro-optometric rehabilitation. Through individualized, evidence-informed programs, patients can rebuild visual efficiency, regain confidence, and restore functional skills that impact school, work, and daily life.

If you or someone you know is recovering from a brain injury and struggling with visual symptoms, don’t overlook this vital piece of the puzzle.

🔎 Find a qualified developmental optometrist through OVDRA’s Locate a Doctor directory: https://locate.covd.org/
