Remember that bent rod post we shared some time back? Well… she’s officially back on the road and better than ever.

This F80 arrived at our shop sometime back for some strange sounds, we immediately pulled the engine and began tearing everything down to properly inspect the damage. After finding multiple bent connecting rods, the block was sent out to for machining and prep work before making its way back to us for reassembly + some goodies.

During reassembly our team got to work and installed some new & upgraded rods, pistons & head studs to ensure this setup was ready to handle far more abuse than before with the factory parts. While the engine was out and everything was apart we also installed a new clutch & lightweight flywheel from to improve response and driving feel!

From complete engine tear-downs and machining coordination to full reassembly and supporting modifications, this build is another perfect example of the level of in-house work we’re capable of here at Auto Tuning House. Seeing projects like this return to the road stronger, healthier, and more reliable than before is exactly why we do what we do.

This past weekend, BMW M’s once tongue-in-cheek “April Fools” project became a reality & made its debt for the one and only time at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

We wanted to share this with you all mainly incase you haven’t heard or seen this, but also to showcase one of the most unique highlights of simply seeing a Touring charge around the Green Hell.

Huge credit to BMW M for bringing this concept to life and proving once again that practicality and motorsport can coexist in spectacular fashion. 👏🏼
