Visible Memory

"The Taken House", is a photographic series that portrays, in their old homes, the families that were caught in the middle of an armed conflict that were forcibly displaced in the year 2000. Located at the north of Colombia, Mampujan is today a town uninhabited wrapped in vegetation. The inhabitants of this community, wracked by paramilitary violence, had lost their homes but, according to them, a miracle of God prevented them from being killed. After a deep immersion in the collective and individual memory of the people, we found raw testimonies where life overcame the tragedy. A rare case in the common denominator of Colombian paramilitary violence.
