We posted a holiday door décor special for Thanksgiving 2025… and got ONE client. 🙌🏽

But listen — that one felt like 100.

She measured her door, sent pics, and I prepped everything for an install the night before Thanksgiving. I used the double-tape method (painter’s tape to protect the wall + gaff tape). It looked amazing… until it fell. 😩

Redid it. Left. Temps dropped. Wind picked up. Next morning? Down AGAIN. O.M.G.

Okay. Solution mode activated.

It’s Thanksgiving Day — most stores are closed. Ran to , grabbed command hooks + duct tape (don’t judge 😂). Drove 30 minutes back, adjusted the design a bit at the top, secured it with hooks + gaff tape + a little reinforcement…

Y’ALL. It held. Through the cold. Through the wind. Clients loved it. Even gained a potential new one. 😉

The next day, during breakdown, one small paint peel happened — so after a few trips to Sherwin Williams and back, we made it right. Client taken care of. Lesson learned.

1. Don’t make the design top heavy
2. Dollar Tree command hooks (the small 2-pack) are clutch
3. Use a base/stand for outdoor installs
4. Gaff tape alone may not be enough outside
