Yin yoga embraces slowness, stillness, and introspection, which makes it such a supportive practice as winter settles in. 🧘♀️
This is a season that naturally asks us to soften and turn inward. Yin creates the space to do exactly that, inviting the body into supported postures that feel restorative and deeply nourishing, not demanding.
And a gentle reminder: yin can sometimes bring uncomfortable feelings to the surface. If at any point it feels like too much, it’s okay to stop.
Shift your focus to something grounding like drinking a glass of water, wrapping yourself in a blanket, taking a shower, or doing whatever feels supportive in that moment. 🍂
Trust what your body is asking for, even if it’s slower than you expected.
If you’ve tried this practice, what did you notice your body asking for, or what sensations arose?
When we write our thoughts or feelings down, we’re able to step out of the loops of our mind and back into the physical world. It helps us clarify what’s actually there, focus on what matters, and get more into the present moment.
One of the best low-effort ways to begin is to simply throw up on the page. Any and every thought, write it down as it comes in. Unfiltered. Let it flow until you feel complete.
This practice is beautiful in the morning, right after you wake up. Starting the day with a clear mind is a blessing you can gift yourself. And at night, it becomes a place of reflection… your own wind-down routine that helps you return home to yourself.
And truly, don’t wait for the perfect time, the perfect notebook, or something “worth” writing. Just start. Your body will tell you the rest.
