Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman was asked about the multiple reports that he signed an extension earlier this season and why it was not announced by the team.
The Magic have fired coach Jamahl Mosley after five seasons and three straight first-round playoff losses.
President of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said in a statement: "While this was a difficult decision, we feel it’s time for a new voice and fresh perspective."

The Magic have fired Jamahl Mosley after five seasons.
Mosley went 189-221 during his tenure in Orlando. The Magic have made the playoffs the last three seasons but have not gotten out of the first round.
