Say It Ain't So, Joe is a song about the 1919 Chicago "Black" Sox that intentionally 'threw' the world series against the Reds.
The parallels with this world-altering event from 101 years ago and our current election are staggering.

This song is about innocence lost and the incredulous world that was reeling in shock, stunned that such a conspiracy to defraud the world on the largest stage in sports could happen and that so many people and players were involved. The title comes from the Chicago Daily newspaper headline after the grand jury indictments of many of the conspirators including Shoeless Joe Jackson who was a legend in baseball - even to this day.

It is a sad commentary and parallel to this 2020 election cycle. Of course, the results are not final, but it does appear that fraud on the American people and the sacrosanct institution of fair and free elections is doing to our generation something very similar to those of a hundred years ago! Incidentally, it happened in the midst of a far more deadly pandemic - Spanish Flu.
