Man—what a project. This one was near and dear to my heart. I not only am Provo bulldog soccer alum, but I have had the immense opportunity to watch my big brother Coach this amazing team over many years. This season was one for the books. They earned the region championship, and played their hearts out in the state play offs. It was an honor to paint these young men, I haven’t seen a more cohesive team in years. Their team captain was really just phenomenal. He really cared about his teammates, I watched him comfort in losing, and celebrate each win, never boasting himself. Life has been a little unexpected. . .I threw my back out pretty badly, and because of it I got some imaging done and found I have 6 herniated disc’s and some other complications. I’ve been pretty frustrated with my bodies brokenness, so I decided that I wanted to make something that felt beautiful rather than just broken… this is what I came up with. I was Inspired by the prompt “sprout”. Beauty and light can sprout from the darkest of places. I’m working to embrace my brokenness and let it sprout into something beautiful.
