I believe programs like these matching programs are so valuable. When more people in our community can shop at the farmers market, not only does it improve access to healthy, local, food, but it empowers more people to support local businesses keeping more money in our local economy. My SNAP customers are amazing and they make a powerful impact on my farm’s income. Over the last five years SNAP customers have on average been about 10% of my income. That 10% makes a HUGE difference to this small farm. I am so grateful to my loyal SNAP customers and to awesome local programs like these matching programs that empower people to support each other and contribute to a resilient local food system.
