Everyday thousands of helpless and defenseless animals both young and old are killed in Southern California shelters due to lack of homes and shelter overcrowding. Love Dogs? Become a Paid Foster!
🐶 $300 monthly stipend
📍 Portland metro and within 45 minutes
❤️ Big dogs only
🐾 Most are dog friendly
🏡 You choose the dog you'd like to foster
📅 Minimum 3 month commitment
START Rescue covers food, supplies, and veterinary care.
These are wonderful dogs we've rescued from California shelters and the streets. Larger dogs often wait much longer for homes, and fostering gives them the time they need to find the perfect family.
One foster home truly can save a life.

Own your home OR have your landlord serve as a reference.
Have a fenced yard.
Have good references.
Fill out a quick application form
Submit to a home visit.
Sign a contract agreement.
Must love dogs!
