April 19th-25th is Lab Week! We are excited to continue to celebrate this annual commemoration of laboratory professionals in healthcare. Established by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science in 1975, Lab Week is more specifically known as Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. In addition to Lab Week, Genetics Center is also celebrating Administrative Professionals Day on Wednesday, April 22nd.

We greatly appreciate the contributions of medical laboratory professionals, genetic counselors, administrative assistants, and support staff to the healthcare industry. We vale the dedication of our healthcare professionals, whose continuous effort has advanced the field of genetics and ensured quality patient care over the past 40 years at Genetics Center.

From March 18th-21st, 2025, Genetics Center is celebrating the 7th annual Medical Genetics Awareness Week! Organized by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG), Medical Genetics Awareness Week aims to highlight the invaluable contributions that medical genetics healthcare professionals make in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of genetic diseases. ACMG has designated this year's theme as "Celebrating the Contributions of the Entire Medical Genetics Team to Patient Care and Public Health."

Here at Genetics Center, our medical genetics clinical and laboratory team are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of patients and families. We are glad to continue to celebrate and support this initiative to promote awareness for this dynamic field.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we'd like to take this opportunity to put an emphasis on early detection. Breast cancer accounts for 1 in 3 of all new female cancers each year. Advances in early detection and treatment can significantly increase survival rates.

Knowing your genetic risk factors can play a huge role in early detection. Through our genetic counseling and hereditary cancer testing, our wonderful team of medical genetics healthcare professionals can help shed light and empower you with that knowledge.
