Empowered Ladies Events

This connection makes you realize your negative thoughts patterns aren’t just you needing to think more positively but actually a problem that starts in the body and it’s stress responses. Your body expects danger around the corner so it is geared up and ready to protect you at all times.

When we’ve experienced trauma our system can go into disregulation. It can go into and stay in hyper or hypo arousal, meaning either on high alert for danger or completely shut down to emotions.

In hyper:
-we struggle with racing negative thoughts
-we are tense and burnt out due to our NS constantly running
-random bouts of sweating
-easily frightened
-hard to focus or do tasks for long periods of time
-seem fidgety or not interested
-focused on problems

Hypo:
-low s*x drive
-low social capacity
-lethargic
-constipation
-lack of emotion
-lack of motivation
-ignores problems

How we do fix it?
-cold showers/vagus nerve stimulation
-deep breathing
-soft blankets
-affirmations consistently
-gratefulness journaling (add tapping to these last two for better results)
-avoid caffeine and gut inflaming foods/high alcohol consumption
-get regular daily movement
-drink lots of water
-calming teas and aromatherapy can also help
