ππ« PLEASE SKIP THE FIREWORKS β FOR THEM π«π
While fireworks may last only minutes for us, their impact on animals can be terrifying, traumatic, and even deadly. ππΎ
Dogs and cats hear sounds far louder than humans. Explosions in the sky can send them into full panic mode β shaking, crying, escaping yards, injuring themselves, or running away in fear. Every year, shelters see an increase in lost, injured, and frightened pets because of fireworks. πΆπ±π
Wildlife suffers silently. Loud booms cause animals to flee their homes, abandoning nests, dens, and babies in pure terror. Many never find their way back. π¦πΏπ
Birds are especially vulnerable. Fireworks trigger something called βnight fright,β causing birds to suddenly take flight in darkness, becoming disoriented and colliding with buildings, trees, and each other. For many, it is fatal. π¦π
Our waterways arenβt spared either. Firework debris and chemicals fall into rivers, lakes, and oceans, poisoning aquatic life and damaging fragile ecosystems that animals rely on to survive. πππ
Fireworks donβt just end when the noise stops β their impact lingers long after the sky goes quiet. π
π Kindness doesnβt have to be loud.
π Celebrate in ways that donβt cause fear or harm.
π Choose compassion over fireworks.
Please join us in protecting pets, wildlife, and the planet by skipping fireworks this year. πΏπΎ
