After talking with an Amish friend of ours who manufactures horse harnesses, he turned us to a material called BioThane which he uses to make his harnesses. We purchased a few collars for our boxer and immediately discovered the benefits of BioThane and realized its potential; our boxer could now comfortably wear a collar all the time. After numerous friends and family members asked where we got the collars we decided to learn how to make them ourselves. All of the products and equipment used to make these items are purchased directly from the Amish and are completely hand made by ourselves. All of our hardware: buckles, rings, rivets and snaps are extremely durable nickle plated steel. To make our collars as strong as possible we use the strongest rivets called tubular rivets, these are used on our 3/4" and 1" wide collars and leashes. On our 1/2" collars and leashes we use what are called jiffy rivets, these are used in place of tubular rivets because the material is much narrower.
