In a win for maternal health, Wisconsin moms on Medicaid will have 12 months of healthcare coverage after giving birth. The new law, which went into effect on July 1, will help keep moms healthy from complications that could arise after giving birth as well as support their mental health postpartum.

Healthy moms also mean healthy babies. Moms not struggling with mental or physical health can provide better care for their newborns. According to a 2018 study published by the American Public Health Association, states that have extended postpartum Medicaid coverage showed a more than 50% decline in infant mortality rates than states without the extension.

Important Update: Changes to Appointment Reminders & Patient Surveys Starting July 13

Beginning Monday, July 13, 2026, appointment reminders and patient surveys for most of our services - including the Health Center, Behavioral Health, Health Promotion, Laboratory, and more - will be sent through our new communication platform, EZAccess.

What patients may notice:
✅ Appointment reminder texts, emails, and phone calls may come from different phone numbers or sender information than in the past.
✅ Reminder messages will have updated wording and formatting.
✅ New patient survey invitations may be sent after eligible appointments.

Please know these communications are legitimate and expected. We want to help patients recognize these changes so they are not mistaken for spam or phishing messages.

A helpful reminder: Appointment reminders and pre-visit check-in messages serve different purposes and may arrive separately.
During the transition period, some patients may receive duplicate reminders from both our previous system and EZAccess. We have worked to minimize this and appreciate your patience and understanding while the change is completed.

Please note: This update does not affect Optical or Dental appointment reminders at this time. Those reminder processes will remain unchanged.
