Live With: Colin Linden - Blow 06/29/2026

Today’s athletic stars talk about meeting yesterday’s sports stars as kids. Colin Linden met his hero, too, when he was 11 years old – only Linden’s hero wasn’t Tom Brady or Michale Jordan – it was Howlin’ Wolf, and that’s who Linden met as an 11-year-old.

Fast-forward to today and you’ll find Linden everywhere from a Coen brothers’ soundtrack to a TV show like “Nashville,” or producing records that win awards, including 2020’s Grammy for producing Keb’ Mo’s “Oklahoma.”

Get a taste of what to expect at the on Friday, August 14 when Linden joins .chrisfillmore and .marriner at Playing with Fire ‘26 – check out the video to “Blow” to see Linden in action.

Blues doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes it slips in like perfume … and then it hits you! Whoa!

That’s Meena Cryle & Chris Fillmore – velvet-vocals that collide a guitar-led style of blues that will glow PwF red – for FREE – on Friday (August 14) when the duo headlines Playing with Fire, August Night #2.

And for an extra, bet-you-didn’t-know nugget for the Trivial Pursuit crew: The band’s bassist is Angus “Bangus” Thomas, a veteran player whose résumé includes names like John Mayall, Albert King and Miles Davis.

Playing with Fire has never just been about the stage – it’s about the people around it.
The volunteers who show up early and stay late.
The fans who travel miles to be here.
The music lovers who discover a new favorite band.
The donors, partners and friends who quietly help keep the music free.

Over the years, Playing with Fire has become something bigger than a concert series. It’s a gathering place. A place where strangers become friends. Where fans reunite every summer. Where the music creates moments people carry with them long after the last note fades.

Since 2004, more than 750,000 fans have joined the PwF experience. So whether you're a first-time visitor or a longtime fan, welcome to the PwF family!
