What Pinterest wont tell you about wedding cakes!

1. Those towering 8-foot cakes you see on Pinterest?
Most aren’t all cake! Many tiers are foam dummies covered in fondant for height. But don’t be fooled, they cost about the same. The design time, materials, and artistry like the amazing sugar flowers, are identical, and those foam tiers aren’t cheap either!

2. Sugar flowers take hours (sometimes days).
Handmade sugar flowers are edible art, not just decoration.
Very personalized. Each petal is handrolled, veined and dusted. Not to mention the extra time it takes to wrap each stem and assemble them on the cake for that elegant finish!

3. Most pinterest cakes with the luxury look are made using fondant, but fondant isnt used for flavor. Even though I use quality fondant! It is strictly for design. To get the artistrty you want, the design has more involved then what the picture shows. BTS there are many many many hours not shown.
