Protect Nebraska from Data Centers.
Massive corporate data centers are being proposed in Nebraska that could use more electricity than entire cities.
While new technologies like artificial intelligence may bring benefits in medicine and agriculture, the current model for building large data centers raises serious concerns for Nebraska communities.
These facilities consume enormous amounts of electricity, water, and land while local residents carry the risks. Projects of this scale could strain Nebraska’s public power system, increase electric bills, impact farmland, and place new pressure on our water resources.
Nebraska’s public power system was built to serve the people of this state. Tech companies should not be allowed to move in, overwhelm our infrastructure, and leave local communities paying the price.
Before projects of this scale move forward, Nebraskans deserve transparency, safeguards, and a real public conversation.

Concerned about the rise of resource draining data centers? You should be. Here is the latest going on in Nebraska from FFP.
Google has privately proposed building a new data center in Nebraska that could require three times the amount of electricity needed to power all of Lincoln during the hottest months of the year, according to documents obtained by the Flatwater Free Press.
The tech giant would power that massive data center — possibly the largest in state history — through a privately built utility-scale natural gas plant potentially capable of producing more power than the largest power plant in the state.

We had a great hearing on LB1028 last week. LB1028 is an act to protect Nebraska's soil and water. Thanks Senator Margo Juarez for working with GC Resolve on this important issue!
We believe farmer led regenerative agriculture practices are key to healthy soil and clean water! It is especially important to be proactive as the volume of waste being produced is growing drastically with Nebraska's aggressive recruitment of Large Concentrated Animal Feed Operation’s (CAFO's).
With the short session it will be tough to move the bill forward, but we hope this common sense approach will be adopted into law soon. We owe it to the next generation of Nebraskans!
