This one hits hard as I am still a little lost for words. I lost a very special client and the world lost a very special man recently. Dean has not only been my client for the last 16 years, he has been one of my biggest mentors and supporters of my career! He is the one who believed in me and gave me the chance to move to Omaha and become the Fitness Director of PLF back in 2009. He left a legacy in the fitness industry! I learned so much from him and his mentorship has meant the world to me over all these years, especially when I decided to leave the corporate gym and start my own business. He always came into our sessions with a smile on his face, ready and wanting to work hard! My studio won’t be quite be the same without him anymore and he will be greatly missed!

Last week a very special client of mine gained her wings. This is the first client I have had pass away, and this one hits hard! She would come into every workout with a smile on her face and such a great attitude even when she was struggling with all the pain she was in from all her treatments. Only Judy (Dearheart) would come in to workout with her clown shoes on🙂. Her workout folder will definitely be difficult for me to retire. Her and her husband are also the most generous people that have let my family use their lake house and boat every summer for the past 5 years and where my kids have the absolute best memories! I was so blessed to have her as my client for all these years! Judy, although I know you are in a better place now, you will be missed dearly! I will be praying for Tom and your whole family during this difficult time!
After my double mastectomy and all my reconstruction surgeries, it took me a whole year to be able to do a full
body push up again up on my toes. And I still struggle with push ups after all these years, so I usually do them on an incline using a bench or power rack bar.
I do not measure strength off certain bench marks. You don’t have to be able to do a single push up, squat your own body weight, hold a minute plank, or deadlift over 100 pounds to be strong! Everyone has to learn to meet their body on where it is at and what it is capable of doing and improve from there!
