I sure love our record keeping system . Too often, previously, we might make "Mental notes," and those seldom get filed properly for later reference.

Cattlemax allows us, any of our crew with access, to add notes (such as a yearling to keep an eye on for pinkeye concerns, or performance notes such as "gaining weight easily on late season grass") all help us to make responsible treatment, and often Non-treatment decisions, as well as make sound culling and nreeding decisions.

6 days ago, this calf development a squinted eye with light weeping and we decided we would hold off on catching her and treating a "concern." Rather, monitoring and field check showed no concern today and a healthy calf; all qith no stress of catching or cost of treatment for a "concern."

This type of management, which we've been using for almost 10 years, is only possible with good, and most importantly easy, record keeping. For if it's too cumbersome, easy to misplace like a pocket herd book, or even costly, it will serves no use.

This week's been a page turned in a long chapter of our wonderful daughters lives, and we couldn't be more proud. First 12 years of school are down and while juggling sports, horses, cows, chores, vacations, friends, and all that, they came out on tops in academic to boot and we couldn't be prouder. The futires bright, our door is always open, and I'll never pass up a kiss on their forehead or a true heartfelt hug.
