This morning, I was honored to watch HB 1687 be the first bill signed into law this year.
This bill expands the Housing Cooperation Law to include Social Housing Public Development Agencies, which allows these agencies to partner with localities for a clearer path through permitting and development. It’s an easy way to support more social housing in Washington, and I’m thankful for Mayor Wilson and Councilmember Foster’s (among other City of Seattle partners’) support on getting this bill through the legislature.
