Join us as we explore the world around us! Have you ever wondered...

🍰 Why a recipe could call for baking soda, baking powder, or both?
🍪 What exactly is the difference between a macaroon and a macaron?
🍮 How to interpret "high altitude" instructions?

Using cross-cutting science and math concepts, participants will explore the chemistry of baking through confection, patisserie, and more and do so much high-altitude conversion math they'll always have an answer for students' "when are we ever going to use this" questions.

But we are not joking when we say you only have two more weeks to register for our Secrets of the Desert webinar... or how many times our team has proofread "desert" to make sure it doesn't accidentally say "dessert" over the past few months. Our WSU Arts Learning Collaborative and SUU Arts Fusion teams have been hard at work getting activities and supply packets ready, and we can't wait to explore Utah's deserts with you.

Join us as we explore the world around us! Learn about the plants and animals in Utah's varied desert habitats through dance, music, theatre, and visual art. Using cross-cutting science concepts, participants will engage in hands-on strategies for teaching arts-integrated activities in their classrooms.

This free, state-wide arts integration webinar is directed toward K-6 art form and general classroom educators and presented by Southern Utah University and Weber State University.
