Austin For OUSD
Vote on November 3rd or earlier by mail. As a 3rd grade teacher, I walked into school every day feeling the weight of the responsibility I had for the students in my class. I knew their families sent them to my classroom each morning trusting I would do everything I could to ensure their intellectual, social, and emotional growth. My students’ success was my #1 priority. I’m running for school boa

I cannot fully express how grateful I am to every single voter, volunteer, donor, and community member who supported my campaign for school board. With every vote cast and door knocked on and text message sent and dollar donated, you showed your belief in the power of student-centered leadership. None of what we accomplished would have been possible with you. Thank you.
While we are going to come up short in the final tally, we can be very proud of what this campaign achieved. We centered the importance of student academic achievement. We shined a spotlight on the importance of literacy, especially for Black and Latinx students. And we kept policy - not politics - at the center of the conversation all the way to the end.
I’d like to congratulate Sam Davis on his election to the school board. I look forward to supporting him and the new board - as well as everyone working in the best interest of students across our city - as we continue the work of building a better OUSD.
Literacy & justice for all,
Austin
PS- I’d like to say a special thank you to . You sacrificed much to make this campaign happen. I couldn’t have done it without you. And thanks too to who made a great campaign duo with Maggie. I appreciate all your hard work!

Get Involved / Stay Connected / Online Surveys & Community Meetings This community-wide survey is designed to collect feedback from families on a number of topics which will help us improve our planning. We ask that OUSD parents/guardians fill out one per family.

There are 3 important propositions and measures in the ballot. They have been a critical part of every campaign conversation about how we improve OUSD. I’ve said “Yes!” to each one in forums have handed out yard signs and literature for each of these!
YES on PROP 13 - close the corporate tax loophole and bring more money to our communities and schools!
YES on Measure Y - and help us make critical repairs to our school facilities!
And YES on QQ - and give 16 and 17 year old students a vote in school board elections!
