21 Food Banks Throughout the Country Excel in Advocacy



Just learned today that the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank just made the Advocacy High Honors, top 21 list of Food Banks throughout the United States for our Policy and Advocacy efforts! When I came on 18 months ago as the Government Affairs Manager, I was tasked with helping build-out, not only an advocacy strategy but also an Advocacy department from the bottom up.



That's why this is even more rewarding because the efforts are paying off, and as a result, we are protecting thousands facing food insecurity, especially during this pandemic. Folks, this what it's all about.



However, this would not have been possible without teamwork, and I must pay respect when it's due. It's an honor to work with great colleagues, coalitions and CBO’s from across the State who helped make this possible. With one mission in mind, this was a collective effort, Ending Hunger in the most equitable way possible, NOW. And we should never be apologetic for that. Let’s keep up with this "Good Trouble" in the words of the late great Civil Rights Leader- Congressman Lewis.

Couldn’t be more proud and a part of the Policy and Advocacy team at the SF-Marin Food Bank that helps make this possible and a organization that does so much for the community in providing food to over 60,000 Households, and 1.3 million meals per week, during this pandemic. I will forever be a dedicated servant leader who have community in mind with every move I make, fighting for the people. This is what I do daily!
