On Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Dr. Robert Renteria, the first Latino in the world to receive two national Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards for his work as a civil rights leader and a voice in educational reform likes to remember a powerful quote that speaks volumes to today’s society, “People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they have not communicated with each other.”

Meet our Project Coordinator, Azkiya!

Azkiya works closely with several back-office departments to prepare any and all project applications before their deadlines! Whether it is navigating application portals, providing support for customers, or gathering essential materials from any of our departments, Azkiya does it all just to ensure our qualifying customers are able to access all the benefits of going solar!

Azkiya likes to keep busy both in and out of the office, playing sports such as basketball, soccer, and volleyball in her free time... she even took up boxing this summer!

When she isn't playing sports, Azkiya enjoys reading books,watching movies and spoke about her love of travel and how she hopes to do more of it in the future. Meeting the people of the world seems like the perfect plan for Azkiya, who's hidden talent is her ability to understand others on a philosophical level.

While she may have a love of travel, what Azkiya loves most about the company is how it feels like home, and that atmosphere of peace, comfort, and respect has helped her and her coworkers learn and grow.

A quote that Azkiya pointed to as being particularly meaningful to her comes from the Quran 94:5, "Surely, with hardship comes ease."

From tracking the executive team’s calendars to keep them on pace for a successful day, to fostering a warm and friendly environment for visitors coming in for solar consultations or job interviews, Amiyah Kerry maintains a white-glove service that meets the perfect balance between the UAM team and visitors, always greeting them with a smile.

With positivity always on her mind, a quote that drives Amiyah to remain one of the hardest workers in the room comes from a song her grandmother used to sing to her as a child, "Always look for blue skies, even on the cloudiest of days."
