On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, 51-year-old, David S. Shovlin, of O’Fallon, IL pled guilty, in St. Clair County Court, to Involuntary Manslaughter (Class 3 felony) and Obstructing Justice (Class 4 felony) for his role in the death of, 31-year-old, Allison Hartmire, of O'Fallon, IL on October 23, 2023.
On October 23, 2023, at about 2:49am, Allison was brought into the Memorial East Hospital with traumatic head injuries which resulted in her death. The O’Fallon Police Department was contacted and, in collaboration with the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office, began an extensive investigation into the circumstances of her death.
David’s charges and convictions were the result of plea negotiations with the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. David was not detained and is scheduled for sentencing on August 26, 2026.
