The Mission of the LDC is to provide opportunities that promote the active involvement of the association’s emerging leadership in the construction industry and the SIBA community.
The Leadership Development Council of the Southern Illinois Builders Association will have their annual free "Washers' Tournament" held in conjunction with the SIBA Indian Summer Get Together on September 14. The last two weeks, myself and a couple other members of the Southern Illinois Builders Association (SIBA) Leadership Development Council helped with some of our local High Schoolers with their interview skills. These kids are a part of the new CAVE program (vocational school) with District 201 and have some big apprenticeship interviews today and tomorrow.
As the new Chair of the LDC this year, we’ve been looking forward to getting this relationship with 201 and the Cave started. After helping out the last two weeks, I’m now looking forward to seeing how we can continue to expand this relationship and get even more involved.
Good luck to those kids with thier interviews today. Hopefully they knock it out of the park..(little opening day reference!).
