“I’ll miss looking into those deep, kind eyes. When you were speaking with him, they seemingly opened into an entire universe. You could see constellations in those big brown eyes. I think that’s what he drew on and expressed through his music. But there was a playful side as well. He was up for anything. Bobby was the ultimate teammate and collaborator, which is what he brought to the Grateful Dead and to everything else he did as well. It was all there in his eyes. He’d always go deep,” Peter Shapiro.
