So - this might not seem like a big deal (but it sort of is). Couple the ubiquity of free wifi with the under-the-hood enhancements Apple has put into this ipad and you have a winner for students and teachers.
I've read a few comments on linkedin about how 'Apple should leave this market because they are no longer innovative' ... um, well, yes they are. The brain in this $300 device is far more capable than anything else at that price point, the iOS is stable and fast, the screen is capable of being paired with the Apple Pencil and Logitech 'crayon' (not sure if that's the actual name or what people decided to call it). Sometimes innovation comes in the form of figuring out how to shoehorn all this tech into a mature device. Think (r)evolution.
There is also a cool App teachers can use to deploy content to the ipads in their classroom - making it super easy to run lessons and track student progress.
Should be a winner. Also - If you are an educator or administrator you should be looking into Apple Financial Services for leasing advice.
