thought we would. We want to eat more natural things, but as I did my research, I found that even things labeled as "healthy" were covered and treated in chemicals and the things labeled as "Organic" was simply out of our price range. It was then that I decided I wanted to raise some chickens for eggs and meat. This way there was at least something I could eat that I knew what it was fed etc. I also decided that I would try and grow some of my own vegetables to help us cut down on our grocery bill and get us eating healthy food. Not knowing a thing about farming, growing food, or how to take care of chickens, I began to research and network. Through this learning I found out how to integrate my wants (healthy natural food), needs(a garden that is rich in nutrients), and desires(for a way to support my family, while helping change others lives as well). And thus the concept for Feisty Rooster, our small, local, family run farm began.
