⚠️ Keep in mind that our city limits is not a “whole solid” area and it is filled with gaps and holes: One street may be inside the city limits, while the very next street could be in unincorporated Tuscaloosa County where it is legal. ⚠️

🚲 The Non-Motorized Parade! Starts at 5:45PM—Deck out your bicycles, wagons, and scooters in your best red, white, and blue to join in on the fun.
* BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair): Don't forget to grab your favorite lawn chairs so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening in the heart of downtown.
* Parking and shuttle info! You can catch a bus from the Synergic Center or the open lot next to the hotel—they’ll bring you right to Mark’s Mart.

Dangerous heat and humidity will increase the risk of heat-related illness. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outdoors.

☀️ Heat Safety Tips

💧 Drink plenty of water—don’t wait until you’re thirsty.

🏠 Stay in air conditioning whenever possible.

🧢 Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.

⏰ Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.

🚗 Never leave children, pets, or vulnerable adults in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.

👵 Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.

😵 Know the warning signs:

* Heavy sweating
* Dizziness
* Muscle cramps
* Nausea
* Confusion

🚑 Call 911 immediately if someone shows signs of heat stroke, including confusion, loss of consciousness, or a body temperature above 103°F.
